Vintage Fruit Art Prints

Two traditions on one wall. From the European orchard records come named apple and plum varieties — Beauty of Kent, Nelson’s Glory, Coe’s Golden Drop — set down by Gallesio, Duhamel and Wendel with the precision of a grower’s catalogue. From the American pomological studies come the tropicals: mangosteen, jackfruit, loquat, avocado and guava. Where our Vintage Flower & Succulent prints are all bloom and stem, these are weight and ripeness — fruit halved, cross-sectioned and shown on the branch.

The palette runs warmer than most botanicals: apricot and peach, plum and blood orange, deep grape blue, all of it sitting on cream. A generous, well-fed sort of colour. These prints belong in rooms where people gather and eat, and they carry the character of another century without asking the room to be anything in particular.

How to hang them

Fruit is one of the few botanical subjects that genuinely improves in numbers. A grid of four or six — all apples, all plums, all citrus — reads as a proper study and holds a long wall above a sideboard or a dresser. Single pieces do their best work where the wall is narrow. Keep the frames identical and let the variation come from the fruit. Our contemporary florals and fruit prints sit well alongside when you want something looser.

Each art print in this collection is available as a fine art Giclée print on premium 230gsm ultra-matte paper using archival inks, or as a mounted canvas — a premium imported 260gsm poly-cotton blend stretched over a 35mm Obeche timber frame. Sizes run A4 through to A0, unframed or framed in black, white, light oak or dark kiaat.
