Samuel Kilbourne prints: vintage fish art
Samuel Kilbourne painted his fish from fresh catches, racing to capture their colours before they faded, for the portfolio Game Fishes of the United States, published in the late 1870s. This collection includes his sea bass, California salmon, largemouth bass, yellow perch, mackerel, red drum and northern red snapper.
Kilbourne's fish are made for the beach house, the fishing cottage, the kitchen and the study. Hang them as a set in a row, or pair two either side of a doorway, and they work as well in a modern coastal home as in a traditional one.
Every print is a fine art giclée print on 230gsm ultra matte paper with archival inks, or a 260gsm poly-cotton canvas, mounted or as a canvas print only, in sizes from A4 to A0. Frame it in black, white, Light Oak Look or Dark Kiaat Look. Delivery is free anywhere in South Africa.
