    Vintage Shells & Coral Wall Art Prints

    Shells, corals and the stranger things of the sea floor, drawn to be studied. There are cabinet plates of shells and conches laid out by type, mollusks shown open and closed, a set of blue corals, and the corals and anemones of the Great Barrier Reef. George Shaw's sea fans are here, and so are Ernst Haeckel's plates: siphonophores, glass sponges, diatoms, jellyfish and algae, drawn with a symmetry that looks almost designed.

    Where our vintage sea creatures are octopus, squid and crab, this collection is about pattern and structure. The palettes are soft: sand, coral pink, ivory and faded blue, with Haeckel's plates adding deeper ochre and teal.

    How to hang them

    These plates work best together. A grid of four or six shell plates in identical frames makes a calm, coastal wall above a sideboard or a console, and the Haeckel plates make a striking pair in a study. Many prints come as ready-matched pairs, so the choosing is done for you.

    Each art print in this collection is available as a fine art Giclée print on premium 230gsm ultra-matte paper using archival inks, or as a mounted canvas — a premium imported 260gsm poly-cotton blend stretched over a 35mm Obeche timber frame. Sizes run A4 through to A0, unframed or framed in black, white, Light Oak Look or Dark Kiaat Look, and delivery is free anywhere in South Africa.
