Every studio verified July 2026The Winelands ask something particular of an interior. A Cape Dutch farmhouse in Stellenbosch, a new build on Val de Vie, a Franschhoek guest cottage and a Somerset West family home are four different briefs, and the studios here tend to specialise accordingly. But finding the right one is hard. The lists that rank on Google are often years out of date, mix architects and furniture shops in with genuine interior designers, and rarely say what each studio actually does.
As a Cape Town art studio that ships nationwide and works with interior designers, we wanted a Winelands directory we would actually trust. So we did the work properly: every studio below was checked against its own current website in July 2026, we included only practising interior designers based in the region, noted what they specialise in, and linked straight to the source so you can judge the work yourself.

How we built this directory
- Verified at source. Every fact, from location to specialism to named projects, comes from the studio's own live website, checked in July 2026. Nothing is copied from older directories.
- Interior designers only. We left out architecture practices and furniture retailers, even well known ones, so this is a true interior design list.
- Genuinely Winelands. Each studio's base, from Stellenbosch to Paarl to the Helderberg, was confirmed on its own site.
- Not a ranking. Studios are grouped by area and listed alphabetically. There is no "number one", and most work across several categories.
- Your details, your way. We link to each studio's own site and socials so they control their own contact information. Spotted something out of date, or want a correction or removal?

Etch Interiors
A Die Boord studio led by founder and creative director Solange Foguet, working across homes, hospitality, retail and commercial interiors. The approach is functional and practical first, building each scheme around the client's own brand and taste, with sustainable and green processes run through the design stage.
Fynlyn Studio
An interior architectural design studio on Dorp Street, working since 2020 across layout, finishes and interior proposals. Bespoke joinery design is a particular strength, and the studio carries a project through procurement, 3D renders, styling and site management rather than handing it off.
Our House
A small, personal studio in the middle of Stellenbosch with a signature look it describes as an eclectic mix of different era vintage and modern comforts. The work runs from full renovations to one room make overs built around a client's existing furniture, plus curtains, upholstery and home staging for short term rentals.
Rumour Has It
A larger Stellenbosch practice led by chief executive Analise de Beer and chief operating officer Marlene Broodryk, pairing interior design with brand architecture. It is structured for bigger commercial work, with design development, technical services, procurement and project execution in house, and it groups its work into hospitality, luxury living, heritage, care and wellness, and workplace.
SKEP
Founded in 2012 by Carla Gerber and Geraldine Heyns, SKEP runs interior design and architecture side by side from a Ryneveld Street studio. The team covers commercial, retail, hospitality and residential projects locally and abroad, and describes its aim as creative, honest and environmentally responsible design that adds value to the investment.
Beautiful Spaces
A Franschhoek studio working across Stellenbosch, Paarl, the wider Winelands and the greater Cape Town surrounds. It deliberately avoids imposing a signature aesthetic, describing its method as listening and interpreting, then translating a client's lifestyle and preferences into rooms that feel authentic to them rather than to the studio.
Interior Concepts
Nicolette Jonas founded Interior Concepts in 1998 after starting her career at Laura Ashley in Windsor, and has run it from Paarl for more than 25 years across Southern Africa and the United Kingdom. The studio covers interior decorating, home makeovers and renovations, bespoke furniture and homeware, and professional styling, with architectural detailing a stated focus.
Ivy Décor & Design
A full service studio led by founder and chief creative officer Tammy Holmes, working on renovations, new builds and full home projects from Val de Vie. The house style is warm and timeless with an inherently relaxed, country inspired feel, and a custom studio makes sofas and headboards to order alongside the design work.
Live In Taste
Zelda Jordaan's Paarl studio works with homeowners and hoteliers through the Paarl and Franschhoek valleys, including guesthouses and boutique hotels. Its strength is the soft layer: custom curtains and blinds, upholstery, designer wallpaper, handcrafted furniture and bespoke window treatments, pulled together into what it calls modern living with timeless taste.
Maison d' Living
Marina Roper's studio works from the Polo Family Offices at Val de Vie on wine estates, family residences and contemporary apartments across the Winelands and Cape Town. Locally made custom furniture and upholstery sit at the centre of the offer, alongside curtains, blinds, soft furnishings, wallpaper and wall finishes, with classic forms reworked for how people actually entertain and live.
Winelands Design Studio
A boutique studio at The Yard on Val de Vie Estate specialising in kitchen and interior space design, taken all the way through to installation. There is a working showroom on site carrying designer brands and preferred suppliers, so finishes can be seen and specified in person rather than off a sample board.
Lace Interiors
Liesl's Somerset West studio laces project management and interior design together, which makes it a natural fit for jobs with real building work in them. Kitchens, whether new designs or renovations, are a stated speciality, and the team runs builders, painters and subcontractors so the client is not the one chasing the site.
Lynda Louw Interiors
An owner run studio since 2005, working across Stellenbosch, Somerset West, Franschhoek, Paarl, the Helderberg and out to George. Fabric is the specialism, and the portfolio leans commercial and hospitality: boutique hotels, lodges and guest houses, plus residential developments, retirement villages, restaurants and wine farms.
Sophia's Décor & Design
Martie Woehe studied at Stellenbosch University and the BHC School of Design, founded her first practice in 1991 and set up Sophia's Décor & Design in 2016. Textiles and the psychology of colour are the throughline, including a range of exclusive hand painted fabrics under the Sophia's Linen name, applied across residential, corporate and hospitality work.

What's the difference between an interior designer and a decorator?+
Broadly, interior design can involve spatial planning, joinery and built changes, while decoration focuses on finishes, furniture, lighting and styling. Several studios here offer both, and where a studio uses a particular term for itself we have kept its own wording.
Do these studios work outside the Winelands?+
Many do. Several list projects across Cape Town, the Overberg, the Garden Route and further afield. The directory is organised by each studio's Winelands or Helderberg base; their reach is often much wider, which their own sites set out.
