Large vintage bird prints that hold a wall
John James Audubon drew his birds at life size, so the biggest of them filled the largest sheet a printer could handle. A flamingo had to bend its neck to the ground to fit. That scale is what makes these plates so commanding today: a single bird, drawn close, with the whole page given over to it.
Hang one of the great plates large, about two-thirds the width of a long server, console or dining sideboard, and let it be the only piece on that wall. In a plantation or coastal home a heron or pelican brings the water's edge indoors; in an eclectic room, the flamingo's pink is the colour everything else can take its cue from.
Every print is a fine art giclée print on 230gsm ultra matte paper with archival inks, or a 260gsm poly-cotton canvas, mounted or as a canvas print only, in sizes from A4 to A0. Frame it in black, white, Light Oak Look or Dark Kiaat Look. Delivery is free anywhere in South Africa.
