Henri Matisse prints, from Fauvism to the cut-outs
Henri Matisse led the Fauves, the 'wild beasts' who used colour for feeling rather than accuracy, and Open Window, Collioure, painted in the summer of 1905, is one of the works that started it. This collection follows him from there to The Joy of Life, his studio interiors and odalisques, and the paper cut-outs he made late in life.
Matisse's colour is joyful and easy to live with. The cut-outs suit a modern or Scandinavian-style home; an odalisque or interior brings warmth to a bedroom or dressing room. Pair two in a living room, or hang one large where you want a room to feel sunny.
Every print is a fine art giclée print on 230gsm ultra matte paper with archival inks, or a 260gsm poly-cotton canvas, mounted or as a canvas print only, in sizes from A4 to A0. Frame it in black, white, Light Oak Look or Dark Kiaat Look. Delivery is free anywhere in South Africa.
