People & Portraiture Abstract Wall Art Prints

Faces, figures and dancers, simplified into shape, line and colour. Mid-century women in the manner of Matisse, such as the Blue Matisse and Sage Green Matisse Woman prints, sit beside Bea Muller's striped figures and the Woman With series: the Checked Dress, the Red Stripes, the Yellow Stripes and the Black Dress. There is the Bella Eve series, Treechild's Pyjamalove and The Soul Sisters, Ivy Green Illustrations' Poolside Serenity, Ute Rathmann's Repose in Sketch, line-drawn faces and nudes such as Nude XVI and Reclining Nude with Oar, and Retro Disco Dancers.

Where our people and portraiture photography records real faces, these are drawn and invented, closer to illustration. For the softer, more decorative side of the same subject, see our contemporary feminine prints.

    How to hang them

A figure gives a room a point of contact. Hang a pair of facing portraits either side of a doorway or above a console, or three line drawings in a row in a dressing room or a study. A single large colourful figure carries a living-room wall above a sofa.

Each art print in this collection is available as a fine art Giclée print on premium 230gsm ultra-matte paper using archival inks, or as a mounted canvas — a premium imported 260gsm poly-cotton blend stretched over a 35mm Obeche timber frame. Sizes run A4 through to A0, unframed or framed in black, white, Light Oak Look or Dark Kiaat Look, and delivery is free anywhere in South Africa.
