    Vintage tropical bird prints for the smaller wall

    The naturalists who first painted the birds of the tropics could hardly believe their colours: the metallic green of a hummingbird, the electric blue of a kingfisher, the trailing plumes of a bird of paradise. Printed today, these plates still glow, and because many of the birds are small they suit the walls other art overlooks.

    Give one a narrow wall between two windows, the end of a passage or a reading nook, or lean a single framed print on a sideboard beside a mirror. In a tropical or plantation-style home, group three kingfishers or hummingbirds in a row for a burst of colour that still feels calm.
